Saving You Money: Inexpensive pampering & saving on haircare

Want to save the *most* money on hair care? No, I’m not suggesting that you cut your own hair (of your kids or your spouses’ unless you don’t want them to talk to you anymore). Try out a cosmetology school near you.

St. Louis has a few different schools where you can get good haircuts for less than $20. Now I know that you can get a cut for even less than $10, but I’ve had those $7.95 haircuts and let’s just say, well, you get what you pay for. I’m willing to bump up my spending to $10 to get a good haircut by someone who is supervised.

Paul Mitchell has several locations and I’ve always received a good haircut/coloring every single time I’ve gone. Granted, color services and other chemical services do take a little longer than going to a professional, but it’s a trade-off that I’m willing to make. I bring a book, enjoy a cup of free coffee and just relax.

Find a John Paul Mitchell School near you here.

Plus, there is also a “frequent customer” program where you earn points for each time you re-schedule an appointment, purchase product, or add a service. And if you feel like spending a little money to save some money, you can purchase a Membership for $60 that gets you as many free haircuts as you want in a year, 10% of chemical/color services, and savings on take-home products as well.

Going to try out the Paul Mitchell School in St Louis? Tell them that Katie MacLean sent you!
